<Nozeroc> what are you called on aion?
<Purewarlock> dislike the big lvl difference between mobs and player in Aion. if you are lvl 23 the lvl 22 things is way to easy and 24 a big bite without a party

@eil: ulduar was previously scheduled on the calendar (and cancelled due to insufficient turnout). Previous raids originally had one person take responsibility for them before they became weekly events. Ulduar has no organizer yet. As I am sure you are aware, any guildie can put an event up on the calendar, so you are more than welcome to organize an ulduar run if you so desire. This is not an attempt to be snide, merely pointing out that a run needs an organizer to become established. As with EoE, I can schedule the run, but am not comfortable leading it due to only grasping tactics from a healer's PoV.

Last night's run was completely spontaneous. Someone merely suggested that there were enough online to attempt the first boss in ulduar, vin threw a few invites, and 20 mins later we were wiping on levvy.

I did indeed mention that it would be preferable to have one person there who knew what he/she was doing in order to lead the run. This does not necessarily mean that person had to have run ulduar, just be familiar enough with tactics to give the team a chance of success. (I think you may not have been here for the first few naxx runs, but taking on a new raid is not like going to an instance you have never been to. It does involve a little more preparation and teamwork.)

Regarding the Raider rank, it is only currently coming into use. Just as with the Recruit/Member issue, I do not intend to promote Trainees->Raider based on my own judgement alone, but will rely on feedback from the Officers. I know it has taken the best part of a month to discuss and start implementing the changes brought up at the guild meeting, but I would like to get things right first time (if that is even possible) so would ask people to bear with me a while longer.

@mug: it can replace EoE when we have that one on farm :p EoE should be far more doable than ulduar. In terms of what gets run on what night, that really depends on who is available. Ulduar friday would not be bad, once we could still get OS and EoE run on another night or nights.

@eil: most of us need practice in ulduar, which is why we are trying to grab every chance available to run it with the guild. Once it becomes clear who is going to be available for it and when and who will organize it, we'll talk about setting aside a night for it.

@vin: Other than those who have done it elsewhere, or have been here since the early kara or ZA days, I think very few are aware of the uphill struggle that awaits. Raiding is fun, but it is challenging fun.

@pure: A good list, but I would add dedication (or commitment - a willingness to keep trying to overcome a challenging encounter). Without that, people shouldn't even sign up.

(Quoth Signius - I cannot do quotations properly ;)

You're in charge, doing a difficult job, and I do respect your decisions as GM. But the more I ask, the less appealing the rank seems. I just assumed rank was a reward for dedication, loyalty to the guild, dependability etc. I now understand why people are always saying that they don't care about rank. All WoW players are created equal. But I guess some are more equal than others.

Does anyone know if you can sell your mount to the goblins for glue hmm?   Wink

@Sig Part 1: Combatlog for Flame Levithan is pointless...

@Sig Part 2: Dedication does not fit in that list of mine. The list was what we could have done to make Flame Levithan (and every other boss) even easier.

Heh....looking at my last post today, I didn't actually intend to sound quite so negative. Am reminded of a quote by a good (RL) friend of mine..."OMG Amy, it's only a game!" {#emotions_dlg.tongue_out}
